that glorious city we used to call home...

a few of my favorite diana's i took last week in new york city. 

hopefully i'll have just as much fun with the diana in dc this summer...

we were married here.

i took these diana's of the manhattan temple last week in new york city.

this is the temple where husband and i were married...

and in less than a month we'll celebrate our two year wedding anniversary.

i love this temple.

BGR-the burger joint

so far, this is the best burger we've had in dc.

{although technically, it's in bethesda...}

thanks to a tip, we checked it out on our way to the dc temple

last saturday and we both agreed, AMAZING.

we can't wait to check out all the other burger joints in the area.

we have a long list! and we're excited.

p.s. i am learning to like a little ketchup with my fries.

one of the most magical things i have happened upon in new york city...

...this sweet little old man and his handmade sail boat.

i watched him struggle to get it into the water in  central park

{he didn't want any help}

and then watched his face as he watched his boat 

sail across the pond with such pride & joy.

...and it was one of the most magical things i have ever seen.

and i'm so happy i had my diana there to catch it...

and friend carolyn to witness it too.

how was your memorial day?
i'm in love with 3 day weekends.

and i just developed all my diana film from my trip to nyc last week.
i took 6 rolls. i don't even know how...
here is one of the alice statue in central park.
she's a pretty rad statue.

also, we have flash flood warnings here in dc right now.
i probably shouldn't say this, but i love severe weather warnings like this.
hopefully we will all have to stay in tomorrow
and drink hot chocolate and read by flashlights.

while i was in new york city earlier this week.

brought back some ridiculous memories of our lives back
at the juilliard dorm a few years ago.

gosh, i had nearly forgotten what life had been like
over there on the 26th floor back in 2004 - 2006.
good times.

i'm in new york city right now and went to the met this morning to see the model as the muse exhibit {exploring the reciprocal relationship between high fashion & evolving ideals of beauty}. 

if you're in the city or planning to be here sometime soon, go! it's up until august 9th and i loved it. and all i know is i was born in the wrong decade after seeing all that 50's glamour. why don't we dress like that anymore? someone please bring it back... for good. i am so there.

a new wall & door.

sometimes marriage is hard.

not only do you live and share everything with someone else,

but you have to decide on paint colors without killing each other.

if we've learned anything the last two years of our marriage,

it's how to compromise.

so since i couldn't convince josh to choose split pea, 

and he couldn't convince me to pick spring moss, 

we settled for something in the middle, 

and tequila lime is what we painted our wall this weekend.

also, while i looove chalk board walls & have painted them 

in the last two apartments i've lived in, josh isn't such a fan.

so we compromised again and instead of getting to paint an entire wall 

with chalkboard paint, we settled for a door 

and the teeniest tiniest space in the kitchen.

and we still love each other.

we bought bubbles at the hardware store saturday. then we proceeded to have a wonderful time blowing bubbles in the safe way parking lot.

josh and i have been working together
on lots of little projects for our new place.
i am so anxious to get everything done... and slowly, we are.

this is an old fashioned claw foot tub we bought out in maryland.
we spent the weekend scraping off layers of paint and rust
getting her all ready. we are turning her into a coffee table of sorts.
we will post the finished photos later...

but i must tell you, i don't give my husband enough credit
for his genius creativity when it comes to decorating and furnishing a home.
i'm so glad he his taste is better than mine.
