30 weeks!

currently crave apple jacks cereal all day long.

baby kicks a bajillion times each hour. sometimes they're sweet kicks, sometimes they really really hurt. i still love them either way.

going over baby names with my husband each night before bed or emailing each other random ones through out the day is our new favorite thing to do.

finding a comfortable sleeping position at night has become nearly impossible... so i don't sleep. which isn't good for me or anyone who has to spend time with me.

i cry a lot more these days. stress has slowly crept back into my life.

also, my bladder is now the size of a peanut.

but just so you know, i don't think i've ever been happier. and i think it's safe to say josh is happier than ever, too. he tells me so often... and even if he hadn't said a thing, i see it all over his face. there is no hiding it.

You should try unisom at night to help you sleep. You can ask your doctor about it. It is totally safe to take. It is non addictive and helps you go to sleep and stay asleep without totally knocking you out. I am 24 weeks and I take it all through the beginning of my pregnancy because I get so sick I don't sleep well at all. I hope this helps.

absolutely lovely pics. when i was prego with my 2nd baby, i couldn't get comfy. at. all. i had a friend tell me about this pillow called the "back 'n belly pillow" from target.com. it saved me! i tell everyone about it. but, be prepared, it's pretty huge!

congrats to you and your fam.

Alisha said...

So since I've been pregnant I've had a really hard time sleeping as well and it only got worse as I got bigger. Someone informed me about this little thing: http://bit.ly/aaBsgy It looks simple enough and you would think it wouldn't do more than a regular pillow but seriously, this wedge is amazing.

You look so great! I can't wait to meet your little one!

Camilla Leila said...

I can't believe how soon that little one is going to be here! This year is just going by so quickly.

congrats on making it to 30 weeks, dear!

i'm not sure if someone mentioned this, they probably have but just incase! my friend had the hardest time sleeping and bought that curved body pillow for cute preggo ladies and she said it was a miracale pillow. she automatically started sleeping all night, every night. it was something she could just wrap herself around and support her belly on. maybe that would help> i hope you start sleeping, and just like everyone said you are positively glowing love:)

i (w)e feel the same way over here! i am due in about 3 weeks - and believe me, those kicks get more hurtful - and to be honest, i don't like these anymore... sleeping advice: try using one of those long nursing pillows, that you can arrange round your body, between your legs etc... it gives a little more comfort.

Sarah said...

I need to ask, but what you tell your hairdresser, how to cut those bangs and all layers? I absolutely love your hair, but it is hard to find good hairdresser nor tell what i would like to.

Andrea said...

I can completely relate to this, minus the apple jacks cravings. :) I've found as the pregnancy gets closer to the end I stress and worry so much. It helps for me to do random brainstormings on paper throughout the day to get it all out. Also, with sleeping at night, I try to drink very little in the evening so that I don't have to wake up to pee (this buys me about a 5 hour stretch!), and I started taking some stronger medicine for heartburn because tums weren't cutting it at all.

Best of luck these next 10 weeks!! You look gorgeous! I can't wait to see this little babe!

i totally remember those days of trying to find a comfortable sleeping position...impossible. isn't it funny how we need to go through so much physical stress to get such an amazing thing in return? totally worth it. you look adorable!

Courtney said...

I craved Apple Jacks too... and only during pregnancy! Haven't touched a bowl since. And... I didn't learn the gender of my babies early... and with that pregnancy, I had a girl :)

Also, as much as I hate random pregnancy tips, I got this recommendation from my sister and found it to be a gold mine. She recommended a super plush La-Z-boy in place of a traditional glider/rocker in the nursery, which accommodates night feedings rather well... what I found is that starting the third trimester, that recliner was also the best shot at decent sleep I had... accompanied by my body pillow, of course. So.. we parked it next to the bed so I wouldn't feel too far from the husband and I have slept there at the end of both of my pregnancies...

Good luck! Hang in there at the bitter end... you'll be absolutely amazed at how quickly you forget the idiosyncrasies of pregnancy once you hold that baby in your arms.

You look positively radiant!

aww, you look so pretty! love you in yellow.

the husband and I did the same thing when we got our little dog - stayed up every night talking about names and emailing ideas throughout the day. I know that doesn't really compare to baby names, per se...but what a fun time of life:)

And now I'm craving apple jacks...

naomi megan. said...

@alexia, i got the dress a few years ago from H&M. it's not maternity but it has an empire waist and it's flowy underneath so i've been able to wear it during my pregnancy.

and we probably won't divulge any potential names on the blog... we don't really like talking about them with friends and family even, because it's sad when our favorites are shot down. haha.

and thanks so much everyone for the kind comments! i didn't sleep at all last night so i'm kind of cranky today. thanks for being so sweet!

xo

p.s. i DO have a body pillow but man, that thing just adds to my tossing and turning usually! if you've figured out how to make that thing work, props to you!

@courtney, i just might have to look into getting a recliner/rocker to sleep in for the next 10 weeks before baby then! thanks for the tip!

No sleep doesn't sound fun at all but hey, I think you are the tiniest 30 week preggers woman I've ever seen. Amazing that you seem to have only grown...in the tummy (obvi, haha!) So that has got to count for something, I'm sure there are pregger women around the world whose ankles and fingers and toes are swollen with pregnancy who are slightly envious of you.

Except you're giving me a new perspective on the whole family thing. Everything looks so happy, and I have a better glimpse that pregnancy isn't a big scary medical procedure- it's a celebration of life. And thank you. Thank you a lot for that.

@rebecca, JCrew has a bunch of great pencil skirts right now. and in a bunch of beautiful colors. good luck with your family photos!

@liz city, thanks! will have to check out that song!

@rudi, thanks so much for sharing your comment. that is great to hear! i think family is SO important and on top of that, i believe pregnancy is such a beautiful thing. i've heard way too many horror stories about pregnancy over the years and while i know it's hard and crappy for a lot of those 9 months, i really wish women would stop focusing on the negative effects of pregnancy and more on the miraculous gift of that tiny human they are bringing into the world. if that makes sense? it really is amazing. you will love it.

@isaline vanessa, i'm so sorry to hear that. but happy you are confident in going out there and finding what you want. will keep you in my thoughts and prayers!

@roxanne, i don't do the curls the way you're "supposed" to, but i just wrap my hair in a loose bun when it's almost dry for about 5 minutes. hahaha. it's the "easy" way. and takes no time or prep or styling or anything.

thanks again everyone for the nice comments. i stuck a pillow between my legs last night while i slept and i think it helped me sleep for a few hours! so thank you!

I saw on a Cup of Jo that she had a pregnancy pillow for sleeping? I have no idea if that would help you or not but it might...

I thought the other day that I've never seen Josh look happier on your blog - or you either - its lovely to see.

And you look lovely in yellow :)

p.s. sorry if someone already mentioned the pillow lol, I only just saw this...

You're radiant. Please commence part time modeling career soon.

Aya said...

I mean "part-time model" not because you're not lovely enough for the full-time gig, but rather because you have so many fulfilling things in your life (and coming soon) already.
